How to Send Review Request Emails

AfterShip Reviews enables you collect valuable customer feedback with the help of review request emails.

Please ensure that you're on the right plan because your emails won't be triggered if your email quota has already been exhausted. However, your saved emails will be in our system for 30 days before being removed permanently.

Additional considerations

You can turn on/off auto review request emails at any time

You can send emails to customer {{N}} days after the order delivery date

You can send emails to customers {{N}} days after the order fulfillment date

Note: The value of N is set to 14 by default and can be increased up to 90.

Once you enable the feature, review request emails will be sent automatically for every new order. Keep in mind that emails will be pushed with the Default template. You can customize the review request emails in a few simple steps.

Enable review request emails

Go to Review request emails in the AfterShip Reviews admin
Go to Email settings and click Customize to edit your email template
Click Save and turn on the Automated review request emails toggle button

Customers will receive review request emails as per your trigger time settings. To learn how to send review request emails based on the order delivery, click here.

Customer experience

In case your review request email looks different from the below image, contact our support team to unlock a new layout for your account.

You can send a test email to yourself and verify the content very easily.

Here’s a sample:

Case 1: Customer clicks on Review online button

In this case, the customer will be redirected to a new page where they can write their feedback and upload images.

👉 Scenario 1: The reviewer clicks on 'Submit & Share Review' button

Upon clicking this button, reviewers will be able to submit a product review on your store and share it on supported social media platforms. They can even copy the link and share their review in their contact circle with the help of any other channel. In case you're running a referral program, they will receive a discount coupon based on your settings for their next purchase.

👉 Scenario 2: The reviewer clicks on 'Submit Review' button

Upon clicking this button, reviewers will be able to submit a product review on your store. In case you're running a referral program, a promotional message will encourage them to share their review to get a discount coupon code for their next purchase.

Once reviewers are done, a “Thank You” message will be shown like this:

Case 2: Customer writes a review within the email

In this case, the customer will be redirected to a new page after clicking Submit, where they can have the final look at their review and upload product images if they want.

Once done reviewing, the customer just has to click Submit review to share their review with you.

Similar to Case 1, if you have enabled the referral program, the customer will see a promotional message encouraging to share the review further. Check the Scenario 2 explained above for better understanding

Case 3: the review request email isn't loading properly on the customer's device

In this case, the customer needs to click Submit your review online to be redirected to a new page, where they can write a review and upload images.

Note: The review submission process will be the same as Case 2.

How would I know that customers have shared their feedback?

Once a review gets collected, you will receive a notification email from this ID:

The notification email will contain two options: Share to Facebook and Twitter and Reply to review
